What is a Biomarker?
A biomarker is an indicator of your body's physiological state. While biomarkers come in different flavors, here at InsideTracker, we most often refer to blood biomarkers. These markers are measured by analyzing the blood collected during a blood draw. Glucose, cholesterol, and iron are examples of common blood biomarkers you might recognize. Blood biomarkers tell you about the current state of your body as they change based on your diet, lifestyle, and state of health.

About
Get younger from the inside out
See how your biomarkers impact your biological age—and discover how to add healthy years to your life.
People age at different speeds, and the date listed on your driver’s license might not represent your body’s internal age at all. InnerAge 2.0 analyzes 17 biomarkers for men and 13 for women to allow us to calculate your biological age (aka your InnerAge). This plan is for people looking to “roll back the clock” and receive actionable, science-backed methods to make sure your best days are still ahead of you.
The proof is in the data—60% of customers with an InnerAge older than their chronological age get younger on their next test.
What you get with InnerAge 2.0
Blood test and analysis of key biomarkers correlated with aging (17 biomarkers for men, 13 biomarkers for women)
An InnerAge score and analysis of the biomarkers contributing to making you biologically older and younger
An analysis of where you’re optimized—and what needs work
Precise and targeted recommendations to improve the biomarkers making you biologically older
Customizable Action Plan, compatible with your lifestyle
Platform access that combines blood, DNA, and sleep + fitness tracker data
Biomarkers included with InnerAge 2.0
The InnerAge 2.0 plan includes a blood test and analysis of 13 biomarkers for women and 17 biomarkers for men.

How it works
Step 1
Get started with a blood test
Purchase InnerAge 2.0 and have your blood drawn at home or in a lab.
Step 2
Tell us about yourself
Complete your detailed personal profile with nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle preferences.
Step 3

We'll analyze your data to generate your InnerAge score and create a science-backed Action Plan to improve how you’re aging.
Step 4
Create your plan and take action
Set your goal to InnerAge and customize your Action Plan so that it’s compatible with your lifestyle.
Step 5
Check-in and track your progress
Changes to your lifestyle can change your blood biomarker levels and your InnerAge, too. Retest in 3-6 months to track how you’re aging on the inside.
The InnerAge 2.0 algorithm compares each of your biomarker levels to your peers in age and biological sex and calculates the difference between your values and the average levels of your peers.
The algorithm adjusts the impact of your biomarker levels to your total biological age on a weighted scale, based on the biomarker’s known influence on aging—verified by the latest available science. Within your analysis, you can see precisely (to the nearest tenth of a year) how each biomarker is lowering—or increasing—your biological age.
The available biomarkers for InnerAge 2.0 were identified objectively, referencing tens of thousands of data samples. Then, InsideTracker’s Data Science team carefully selected a subset of biomarkers that was most highly correlated with chronological age. The result are two separate groupings of aging-related biomarkers for men and women (based on biological sex) that most closely measure your biological rate of aging.
The data revealed that significant correlations between biomarker levels and age, and that differed by biological sex. For example, the data revealed a significant correlation between hsCRP and age for males, but not for females, so it is not included in the female panel.
While measuring more biomarkers does in fact lead to comparatively more accuracy, precision, and stability, we would not include biomarkers to the panels in an effort to perceptually "balance the genders" if they didn’t have a scientifically proven reason and validity for being there.
Both genders are getting an equitable value of strength, accuracy, and insights from their two respective panels.
We suggest updating your InnerAge analysis every 3-6 months. This enables you to routinely track your progress, adjust your guidance, and make meaningful changes based on your most up-to-date biomarker data.
