You’ll receive a DNA Kit in the mail; simply register your kit, swab your cheek, and mail it back. The cheek swab just takes a few minutes and can be completed from the comfort of your home.

How it works
Step 1
Get your DNA kit in the mail
Receive your DNA Kit in the mail and register your kit ID in your InsideTracker account.
Step 2
Collect your DNA sample
Following the instructions provided in your kit, swab your cheek to collect your DNA sample.
Step 3
Mail your sample to our lab
Place your sample into the biohazard bag, put it in your prepaid envelope, and drop it in the mail.
Step 4
Download the app
While your DNA results are being processed, download the InsideTracker mobile app to review your results for over three dozen wellness traits once they’re ready.
Step 5
Receive your report and analysis
You’ll receive an email once your results are available. View your results in the mobile app or the web dashboard.Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to receive my DNA results?
It takes approximately 4-6 weeks to receive your DNA results.
What about privacy?
InsideTracker is fully HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 certified. We have implemented best-in-class practices to ensure your blood, DNA, physio, and profile data are thoroughly encrypted, obfuscated, anonymized, and de-identified.
What is the difference between testing with InsideTracker DNA Kit and uploading my 23andme or Ancestry data?
Connecting your existing DNA data is quicker and costs less, but there are a few key differences to consider when deciding between the two options.
Comprehensiveness: The DNA report you will receive by uploading your existing DNA data may not be as comprehensive as it would be if you used an InsideTracker DNA Kit. This is because, depending on when your DNA was tested with 23andMe or Ancestry, less genetic data may have been available for analysis. Due to advances in genetic technology, more recent tests provide more data, while older tests provide fewer data.
Sleep genetics: Your DNA report from 23andme or Ancestry may not include any information about sleep. This is because the genetic markers we use to generate sleep insights are often unavailable in 23andMe or Ancestry data.
Genetic scores: Your DNA report from InsideTracker will include genetic scores for certain traits, such as athletic type and cholesterol. These scores combine a number of SNPs, rather than focusing on one individual SNP. Because scores require a minimum number of SNPs for accuracy, it is possible that the DNA report you will receive by uploading your existing DNA data from 23andMe or Ancestry may not include all of the genetic scores you would receive when using an InsideTracker DNA Kit. The InsideTracker DNA Kit has been custom built to include a specific array of SNPs that inform all of our proprietary genetic scores.
Can you ship internationally?
We can no longer offer our DNA services including the InsideTracker DNA Kit and the DNA Results Upload plans to any customer outside of the US. This change is due to new data privacy laws enacted.
