What is a Biomarker?
A biomarker is an indicator of your body's physiological state. While biomarkers come in different flavors, here at InsideTracker, we most often refer to blood biomarkers. These markers are measured by analyzing the blood collected during a blood draw. Glucose, cholesterol, and iron are examples of common blood biomarkers you might recognize. Blood biomarkers tell you about the current state of your body as they change based on your diet, lifestyle, and state of health.

Blood testing options in your state
Users in your state are required to use our mobile phlebotomy option, called mobile blood draw. For an additional fee, a registered phlebotomist will travel to your home or office to draw blood.

Residents of Canada are required to use our “mobile blood draw” option, in which a registered phlebotomist will travel to your home or office to draw your blood sample.
Note: Insulin testing in Canada is not available at this time.

Understanding blood + DNA uploads
An InsideTracker Membership allows you to upload blood results from your doctor and other providers.
When you do, we'll analyze all of the biomarkers listed below. If your third-party blood test reports on biomarkers not included in our tests, those results will not be analyzed. Nor will they appear on your InsideTracker dashboard.
If you’re not sure what your existing blood test looks at, consider purchasing an Ultimate or Foundation blood test through us.
If you have DNA results from Ancestry.com or 23andMe, you can upload those for free as part of your membership.

InsideTracker Membership is an annual membership that automatically renews after 12 months for $149. You will receive an email reminder that your membership is renewing two weeks prior.
If you are in the United States or Canada, purchase a blood plan through InsideTracker and get your blood drawn at a local Quest Diagnostics. See the Ultimate or Foundation Plan for more information.
If you are outside of the United States or Canada, we recommend that you share the biomarker list with your healthcare provider.
Gather all of your blood results and login to your InsideTracker account on your computer. On your InsideTracker dashboard, hover over your account name in the top right corner and click “Add test results.” Upload your blood results by attaching a PDF or JPEG file (make sure that the test date is visible). You will receive your analysis in 3-5 business days. You can also manually enter your results for an instant analysis.
Once you’ve downloaded your DNA results from either 23andMe or Ancestry.com, simply navigate to the DNA page to drag and drop your file or click to select it from your hard drive.
Once the file uploads, click “Submit” and we’ll confirm the file was successfully uploaded.
Please note, this must be done on a computer and will not work from a mobile device. You must have an active InsideTracker Membership to upload DNA data to the platform.
With the InsideTracker Membership, you can upload up to 30 blood result sets per year. This membership renews every 12 months. Renew your membership to continue uploading new blood results to the platform and receiving updated analyses.
Once you have purchased the InsideTracker Membership and you have uploaded your blood data to your account, you can purchase the InnerAge add-on to calculate your biological age.
Please note that your ability to add on InnerAge and the strength of your score will depend on the blood biomarkers for which you have results. To add InnerAge, you need the following biomarkers (at minimum):
Albumin (Serum protein)
Glucose (Blood sugar)
LDL cholesterol (Cholesterol transporter)
Triglycerides (Fats for energy storage)
InnerAge analysis is $99 per calculation. To update your InnerAge with a new set of blood results, reorder the InnerAge analysis.
When you get your blood drawn by your physician or at a lab, we recommend asking to measure the biomarkers listed above.
You do not need to have results for every biomarker. For example, if you have a complete metabolic panel, a lipid panel, or a complete blood count from a recent doctor’s visit, you have plenty of markers to use the platform.

We recommend getting your blood tested every 3-6 months (or 2-4 times per year) for optimal health. How often and when you get your blood tested will depend on your personal health goals and any changes you’re making to your health routine. For example, it’s recommended that you retest your blood biomarkers about 3 months after starting to take a new supplement. Depending on your athletic training program, you may also want to retest your biomarkers after 3 months.
